As a joint collaboration project, Now Magazine joined forces with Cancer Research Uk and created Race For Wife, a play on their popular event Race For Life. Runners were asked to dress in their wedding dresses while running the 5k race.

As the creative lead on the project I created a logo which was used over promotion material and on flags, banners and even cupcakes on the day of the race. Taking the existing pink ribbon in the Race For Life logo I used the colour and curve and created a veil above the Race For Wife logo to keep within the bride theme. Using transparency layering and a hand drawn line, it gives the feeling of movement.

Race for Wife was a great success and was a tool to create some positive PR, not to mention raising money for a great cause!

Race for Wife was a great success and was a tool to create some positive PR, not to mention raising money for a great cause!

The concept for Race For Wife started when a few of the Now team were chatting about their weddings and the fact that the dress you wear on your big day is so expensive and yet you only wear it once. We agreed that it would be great to have an excuse to wear your dress again in public. Why not for a good cause? And so Race for Wife was born…
